As COVID-19 coronavirus continues to impact communities around the globe, our thoughts are with those that have been affected.
MLTA NSW is committed to continuing to support languages teachers in these challenging times.
In line with the advice that schools should not be arranging or attending large conferences or educational seminars, we have decided to cancel the Provisional language Teachers Workshop which was to be held on 4 April 2020 and our biennial Conference scheduled for July.
In lieu of the face-face workshop, we have liaised with each of the presenters to facilitate virtually. Melissa Gould-Drakeley (Inspector Languages at NESA) has agreed to facilitate her session, Unpacking the NESA K-10 Languages Syllabuses via Zoom on Thursday 2nd April from 4-5:30 pm.
This session will be provided free of charge and will contribute 90 minutes of NESA registered PL.
Anyone is welcome to register for this webinar.
During Term 2 we also hope to facilitate these sessions online:
- Advocacy in the Language teaching space– Liberty Campbell (Project officer for Languages in the Broken Bay diocese and the author of the Jblog textbook series)
- Achieving Intercultural Understanding Through The Language of Pictures– Shirley Hoogewerf (Teacher of Chinese and French)
