The 2026 theme is "Change" and the signature item is "a Mask."

 

We welcome entries from K-6 in our new 'Primary' category.

 

Guidelines for Primary submissions

1. Schools may submit 1 Stage 3 film AND 1 lower Primary film (in the same language).

2. Submissions can come from mixed classes and grades. Up to 2 mixed class film submissions in the same language.
 

 

PLEASE NOTE

1. The teacher/school submitting the film MUST be a CURRENT (financial) member of the MLTANSW.

2. The judges' decision will be final. 

3. It is suggested schools make copies of their films.

Requirements

Films must be:

  • formatted as an AVI or MP4 – NOT MOV (please check)

  • no more than 2 minutes in length

  • be in the target language/s.

  • have English subtitles  to enhance the audience’s enjoyment

 

Guidelines for Primary submissions:

Please note:

  • Schools may submit a maximum of ONE film per Stage per language in the competition.

  • all music used MUST be copyright-free or, you MUST get permission to use from the artist.

Marking Criteria

  • Creativity and interpretation of the theme, storyline, characters etc

  • Film quality (editing, sound etc) 

  • Language accuracy (including grammar, pronunciation, fluency)

Prizes

$300 will be awarded to each winning film in (Primary, Stage 4 and Stage 5).

Certificates will also be awarded for the Best Concept, Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Plurilingual film,  Best Editing, Best Animation, highly commended as well as others.
